St. Paul’s United Methodist Church was originally designed by Louis Sullivan and dedicated in 1914. A major remodel of such a historical gem was quite an undertaking. Their building project included the following: a more welcoming, and accessible new main entrance facing Second Avenue; a welcoming center inside the new entrance with space for gathering and hospitality; an open, expanded gathering space outside the sanctuary;
relocation of administrative offices, music rooms, and the library, renovated parking with covered drop-off at the new main entrance; and numerous infrastructure improvements including new electrical service and relocated exterior utility lines.
Despite the additional challenges historical projects often present, we were able to finish this project very successfully. The remodel was completed with the building occupied the entire time.
